Hawido presented the future of water management in Dubai
Hawido and its partners presented a digital solution for the management of water networks at GITEX 2022 in Dubai. This should allow the distribution network to be controlled and monitored, thereby generating efficiency gains and reducing leaks.
The partners of Hawido, namely Hawle Armaturen, IOT Business Hub, Miromico, Tesenso, University of Lucerne (HSLU) and Loriot, were showcasing a jointly developed digital water management solution at GITEX 2022 in Dubai, one of the largest tech events in the world. The solution aims to combat water scarcity in times of urbanization and climate change.
To achieve this, they have developed a digitally controlled valve equipped with sensors and actuators. This should make it possible to control and monitor water distribution networks in order to improve their efficiency while reducing leaks.
"Water is the oil of the 21st century and Hawido contributes to a sustainable, resource-saving and efficient supply by developing new technologies and opportunities.", commented Saim Arslan, Head of Innovation at Hawle, in a press release.
Miromico contributes novel wireless communication technologies to connect, monitor and control essential nodes in the Internet of Things (IoT). According to Miromico CEO Schekeb Fateh, this technology offers "big potential to digitize well-established businesses".
GITEX welcomed around 100,000 visitors and exhibitors.
The next event will be held from 16 - 20 October 2023 at the Dubai World Trade Center.
